Symphony Overlook
Symphony Overlook will be the place where the new Columbia downtown meets culture in the park. Connecting The Mall to Symphony Woods and Merriweather Post Pavilion, Symphony Overlook promises to be an active, vibrant area in Town Center with gathering places, walkable connections, retail, a hotel/convention complex and cultural/civic uses.
A focal point of Symphony Overlook will be Market Square, a year-round performance and gathering area with a free-standing multi-use building surrounded by new shops and restaurants. Walking south to the renovated Merriweather Post Pavilion, Symphony Overlook will provide a pedestrian connection across Little Patuxent Parkway and through a new cultural district that could contain exhibit space for artists, public art, a visitors’ center, and a new, expanded "experience" library.
